Dr. Darrell Phillips an Applied Sport Psychology Consultant and currently works at the University of Kansas in the Health, Sport, & Exercise Science Department as Adjunct Faculty. Part of his responsibilities include serving as mentor and committee member to the HSES Department graduate students, and more specifically, part of the Sport & Exercise Psychology Lab. Dr. Phillips has over thirty years’ experience teaching exercise science courses, including Sport Psychology, Health Psychology, and coached athletes at the High School, Collegiate and Professional level. Dr. Phillips certified as a Certified Mental Performance Coach with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Additionally, Dr. Phillips currently provides psychological skills training and physical training support for participants of endurance sports teams, individuals, coaches at all levels of competition. Dr D also holds a Certified Level 1 USA Triathlon Coach and has completed more than 50 triathlons, including the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon as a two-time finisher.
