Dr. Darrell Phillips is an Applied Sport Psychology Consultant and Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Kansas. He mentors graduate students within the Educational Psychology and Health, Sport & Exercise Sciences programs and actively contributes to the Sport & Exercise Psychology Lab.
With more than 30 years of experience teaching exercise science and coaching athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, Dr. Phillips brings deep expertise to the field. His teaching background includes courses in Sport Psychology, Health Psychology, and related disciplines.
Dr. Phillips is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also provides mental and physical performance training for endurance athletes, coaches, and teams across all levels of competition.
An accomplished triathlete himself, Dr. Phillips is a USA Triathlon Level 1 Certified Coach and has completed more than 50 triathlons, including twice finishing the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon
